Unwrapping Generational Trauma, 2022

Tree, dyed paper doilies, fence, toy tank. Installation view, dimensions variable.

As the grandson of a veteran who experienced one of the worst battles of World War II, I was fascinated with him. I observed him and his behaviors at a very young age. The trauma he had wasn’t spoken about. My fascination with him as an adult, and his behaviors after the war, became an unwrapping of how the war affected his family.
